About the PBWA

The Professional Business Women's Association is comprised of professionals, business owners, and aspiring business women from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and nearby Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Now in our fourteenth year, the PBWA works to support and foster the development, leadership and community service of our members. The PBWA is governed by a group of five elected members called the Management Council.

The Professional Business Women's Association has succeeded since 1994 thanks to many women who have volunteered their time and talents. In 1994, 13 women came together to form this group. Since then, 52 women have volunteered and served or are serving on the Management Council. Over the years, members have volunteered for major projects such as;

  • Membership recruitment events at NCTC
  • Take Your Daughter to Work when the First Lady of West Virginia came to Martinsburg
  • They have volunteered to put together the monthly newsletter and mail it out
  • They were recognized for outstanding perseverance in locating places for meetings and keeping members informed
  • Volunteered to up-date our PBWA display
  • Volunteering to come in early and help each month with registration
  • Consistently bringing guests to our meetings to grow our membership
