What our members have to say about the Expo...

"The PBWA Business Expo is an unintimidating way to get out of one's comfort zone and meet new people who could become new clients and customers. For those of us who run home-based businesses, this is an absolute necessity!

I have participated in this event a number of years. This past October I was very excited because of all the press and support our organization has garnered. I set up my Southern Living at HOME booth, brought catalogs, donated a few door prizes and spruced myself up to look professional (gotta have that hat!).

What a turn out! I spoke to ladies from our local area as well as Hagerstown and Winchester. They loved meeting all the women owned businesses that they never knew existed. And many joined our organization because it is so friendly and supporting.

For me it was extra worthwhile. I invested $50 on a table (being a member of PBWA has its privileges) and booked three parties! I also took a few orders that very night! Needless to say, I more than earned my investment back! The Southern Living at HOME parties I booked brought in close to $2000 in business I wouldn't have had.

I can't wait for next year. I'll gladly participate again!"

"The 2005 Women in Business Expo occurred about six months after I founded my business. I shared a table with another PBWA member, thinking it would be someone to chat with if things got slow.

It did not get slow. It was two hours of non-stop contacts. I know from the outcome that I even I missed some interested people, but I had brochures and cards available on my (otherwise bare) section of table.

One of the people that I missed was Beth Henry, the journalist from the Martinsburg Journal who writes the weekly business profiles. She called me the following week, scheduled an interview and I had my 15 minutes of fame in the Journal within two weeks. That article netted three clients of which I am aware, and certainly put the idea of a Professional Organizer into the minds of hundreds who may not have even considered the need for such a service.

The Expo was a great success for my business."

"I've been involved with PBWA for a few years and have discovered that the Women in Business Expo is definitely a highlight!

Each year I've participated in the Expo, I've come away with more and more solid leads for my web design business, The Write Market. I've met all kinds of wonderful people starting or growing their businesses.

I've also enjoyed exploring all the wonderful products and services offered by my fellow PBWA members. Even if I wasn't a member, I'd still enjoy attending the Expo, just to see local - woman owned and operated - WV business in action!"
