Announcing The Monia/Christo/Professional Business Women's Association Scholarship!
The Professional Business Women's Association is offering a $300 scholarship to a female graduating senior from a Berkeley or Jefferson County high school. The Monia/Christo/Professional Business Women's Association is available for the first year of study only and is not renewable.
Criteria:
Recipient must be a female graduating senior (within last 18 months) from a Berkeley or Jefferson County high school; have at least a 2.5 GPA; be accepted and plan to continue her education (within six months) at a two or four-year college or university; intend to earn a business or business related degree. Preference will be given to attending a West Virginia institution of higher learning. Applicants must complete application and a 250 to 300 word essay: "Upon completion of college, I expect to apply my business related degree/education..."
Application Checklist:
- Completed application Form.
- One sealed letter of recommendation.
- Sealed official school transcript.
- Letter acknowledging enrollment/acceptance.
- Essay.
Timeline:
- Completed application packages must be mailed to PBWA, ATTN: Scholarship Committee, PO BOx 2586, Martinsburg, WV 25402 by March 31, 2010.
- Applicants will be advised of the status of their request no later than May 15.
- Face-to-face interviews will be held for four finalists.
- The scholarship check will be awarded at the August meet of the Professional Business Women's Association.
